Business planning services

Our team covers a full range of specialist areas including personal tax, VAT, accounting issues and business strategy.

Our approach is to provide you with a point of contact who listens to your needs and can help you with every detail of your business, tax and accountancy affairs. Many of our clients have been with us for years, and sometimes over several generations.

Once we’ve got to know you, we won’t just sit still. We will always be looking for opportunities to help you protect your wealth and work towards your short, medium and long-term objectives. We’ll help you avoid the pitfalls and face any challenges you may meet.

Annual accounts

Our team understands how important your year-end requirements are. We offer a tailored service for your annual accounts, delivering a prompt and efficient service, committed to an agreed timetable.

Whether you’re a sole trader, partnership, limited liability partnership or limited company, we can help with your year-end requirements, allowing you the time to focus on running your business with a stress- and hassle-free service.

Company

As a limited company, you have to file your annual accounts with Companies House within nine months of the end of your accounting year. Company accounts are produced to a set format that includes a director’s report, a profit and loss account, a balance sheet and notes.

At the year end, we’ll prepare both your business accounts using your online software together, if necessary, with your records of receipts/invoices and bank statements.

Partnership/LLP

At the end of the financial year, we’ll use your online software together, if necessary, with your records of receipts/invoices and bank statements to prepare the partnership’s accounts.

At the end of the tax year (5 April) we’ll prepare the partnership’s tax return for you. When it’s ready, we’ll send it to you to check and, once approved, we’ll submit the return to HMRC on your behalf.

Sole trade

At the end of the financial year, we’ll use your accounting records to prepare your annual accounts, along with all the details you’ve entered into your software.

At the end of the tax year (5 April), we’ll complete your personal tax return for you using your records, receipts/invoices and bank statements, along with details of any other income you’ve received during the year.

When your tax return is ready, we’ll send it to you to check. Once approved, we’ll submit the return to HMRC on your behalf, so all you need to worry about is the tax payment.

Bookkeeping

Quality bookkeeping gives you insight into your business performance but can be time consuming and the least of your worries when running your business.

We can help with all aspects of your business accounting and bookkeeping needs with a tailored service, providing the support to enable you to focus on running your business rather than the compliance of record-keeping. Using the latest online accountancy software, our experienced team will make sure your bookkeeping remains compliant and accurate, and gives you real time insights to make good business decisions.

We can help with all aspects of your business accounting and bookkeeping, including:

  • Raising and sending invoices: We get to grips with your invoicing procedure and collate the information that we need to create your sales invoices promptly and issue them to your clients.
  • Purchase invoices: Using the latest technology, we post these invoices to your accounting system, reconciling any supplier accounts along the way.
  • Reconciliations: To make sure you have an up-to-date system, we reconcile your accounts frequently to give you the information you need.
  • Payments processing: We use our systems to make your payments, subject to your approval
  • Preparation and submission of VAT returns.

Corporation tax and tax reliefs

If your business made a profit over the year, you’ll need to pay corporation tax to HMRC. Once your accounts are complete, we’ll let you know how much tax there is to pay, and when you need to pay it.

Corporation tax must be paid within nine months and one day of your year end.

The cost of purchasing capital equipment in a business is not a revenue tax-deductible expense. However, tax relief is available on certain capital expenditure in the form of capital allowances. We can advise you about the allowances that are available.
